Culture Club coming to Canberra

HerCanberra Team

International superstars Culture Club are coming to Canberra later this year.

Culture Club, led by front man, Boy George (currently endearing himself to new Australian audiences as a coach on The Voice), will hit AIS Arena on Wednesday 6 December.

Boy George and the rest of the original line-up including Roy Hay, Jon Moss, and Mikey Craig will be joined by extra percussionists, keyboard players, backing singers and a horn section.

Special guests will be Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, who will play hits live for the first time in 27 years from one of the biggest bands of the 80’s.  Thompson Twins had huge hits – songs such as ‘Hold Me Now’, ‘Doctor Doctor’, ‘You Take Me Up’, providing the soundtrack for so many people’s lives worldwide in the mid-eighties.

“This will be the first time I’ve sung the Thompson Twin’s hits in decades. It’s taken a long time, but now I’m really looking forward to playing those songs to some of the fans that were there first time around,” says Tom.

Canberra audiences will be treated to Australia’s Eurogliders as their support act, featuring Grace Knight on vocals and Bernie Lynch on guitar and vocals.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale on Monday 10 July from www.ticketek.com.au.
