OBSTASPLASH CANBERRA

Australia’s most epic inflatable obstacle course! The course spans 5km of flat grassland with 12 inflatable obstacles such as ObstaScream ObstaBlueBalls andObstaDance stations (giant inflatable dance floors) with themed music to get your groove on.

A CELESTIAL EVENING

Enjoy a delicious Chinese-inspired meal, a glass of champagne and a tour of the Celestial Empire exhibition by curator Nathan Woolley. Includes a signed copy of the exhibition’s companion publication.

DRAGONS ABREAST

Dragons Abreast is a dragonboat team for women (and men) who are breast cancer survivors, and who get together and paddle in a boat on Lake Burley Griffin for fun, fitness and camaraderie.

You don’t need to be physically fit – the dragonboating sessions will get you that way! There is no age barrier – there are women from early 30s to 80 years of age. If you are unable to swim, life jackets are supplied. Paddles will also be supplied to be used on the day and afterwards.

There will be a short welcome and demonstration, then about a 30-minute paddle, then a delicious morning tea.

QUESTION TIME WITH KAREN VIGGERS

What do you get when you ask a prominent someone twenty rapid-fire, unrehearsed questions? Truth, dare, obfuscation or heartfelt honesty?

Muse are putting journalists, thinkers, writers, bureaucrats, artists, and maybe even the odd politician under a dim interrogation lamp to dig a bit deeper and maybe find out a secret or two.

The series starts with local author Karen Viggers, who has written books including The Grass Castle, The Lightkeeper’s Wife and The Stranding.

HEATH CULLEN: OUTSIDERS ALBUM LAUNCH

Heath Cullen returns to the Street Theatre carrying his freshly minted third album, Outsiders. Recorded over just two days at the legendary Sing Sing studios with Elvis Costello’s longtime band The Imposters, this recording marks the first occasion that The Imposters as a unit have collaborated with a singer other than Costello. Heath launches Outsiders together with a five piece band, playing the album in its entirety along with a hand picked selection of fan favourites from his back catalogue.

CANBERRA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA SHELL PROM PICNIC CONCERT

The Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) presents the 2016 Shell Picnic Concert– a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Dutch explorer Dirk Hartog’s landing on Australian soil.

Enjoy a highly entertaining program of music, including Australian favourites Westlake, Edwards and Hindson; and intriguing Dutch composers- Diepenbrock, van Anrooy and Wagenaar.
