THE RSPCA MILLION PAWS WALK

Register Now and Walk to Fight Animal Cruelty in Australia’s biggest dog walk! Held at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park, RSPCA ACT’s Million Paws Walk continues to be one of the most popular outdoor events for animal lovers and their furry friends. Enjoy a beautiful walk alongside Lake Burley Griffin on a stunning Canberra Autumn day with your pooch! Winner in 2010 and 2013 finalist for Best Charity Event at the Australian Event Awards, the walk begins at 11:00am on Sunday, 15 May 2016.

Million Paws Walk is for every paw young or old! This year for the first time we will be hosting a shorter walk option for those who can’t handle the BIG paws walk from bridge to bridge. The walk will begin at the same time but will be a leisurely stroll around Nerang Pool.

EUROVISION SUPERFAN PARTY

In association with SBS and the Embassy of Sweden, the NFSA presents the ultimate Eurovision celebration, with a (delayed) live feed from the finals, Euro-centric karaoke, Eurovision bingo and a very Swedish sensibility.

CANBERRA DARTERS V SOUTHERN FORCE

Come and watch the Canberra Darters battle it out against Southern Force in the Australian Netball League. The Australian Netball League (ANL) gives netball fans around the country the chance to see some of our best young talent in action.

The Canberra Darters’ enthusiastic and exciting brand of netball is sure to prove a big hit with netball fans, with the Canberra Darters bringing their home games back to the SolarHub ACT Netball Centre.

The SolarHub ACT Netball Centre in Lyneham gives supporters an opportunity to be up close to the players in action. Matches are played Saturday night and Sunday at noon; perfect for affordable family fun!

OLD BUS DEPOT MARKET – A CELEBRATION OF WOOL

Meet craftspeople who work with wool from Canberra and the region at the Old Bus Depot Markets – A Celebration of Wool.

Speak to wool producers, craftspeople and artists. View hand spinning, learn about hand felting and watch people weaving. Mix with stallholders, craft enthusiasts and other visitors who love to knit, felt, design and make home wares.

You’ll find hand felted garments and accessories, designer knitwear, millinery, weavings, funky beanies and farm label knitwear. There’s a vast array of woollen yarns, including hand spun and hand dyed yarns. Stock up on woollen items in time for winter.

CANBERRA ROLLER DERBY LEAGUE: SURLY GRIFFINS VS RED BELLIED BLACK HEARTS

Canberra Roller Derby League is back for the second game of the season!

These two teams have dominated the local competition in recent years. While the Griffs took home the Derby Darby Cup in 2014 with the Hearts runners up, fortunes were reversed in 2015 when the Hearts ground out a thrilling grand final victory over their rivals in green. But it won’t be plain sailing for the Hearts.  While skippers Bubble O’Kill and Roxie Die Hart have been whipping their new crew into shape, Griffs captain EleStomp has made it clear that the Griffs are eager to show their fans what they’re made of and reclaim their glory.

Come and see these two teams face off again as their fierce rivalry continues.

Check out all the action at Tuggeranong Southern Cross Stadium this Saturday 14 May. Doors open at 6pm, first whistle at 6.30pm.
