2016 CANBERRA LATIN DANCE FESTIVAL

The hottest event on Canberra’s spring calendar, the Canberra Latin Dance Festival (CLDF), is back over the weekend of 7-9 October, filled with world-class workshops, spectacular performances, high-energy dancers, spicy routines, and the hottest in Latin music.

What is even more exciting is that it is now in an exclusive new venue, the five-star, stylishly renovated, Canberra Rex Hotel on Northbourne Avenue.

As well as the exciting new venue, world champion dancer, Omar Munoz, and his dance partner, Greysa Baez, will be joining us from the USA. Samba dancer, Dahlia Elkateb from Brazilian Fantasy from the UK, will also be here. She’ll be joined by Sashya Jay of Australian Samba performance troupe, Rhythm Brazil, to lead the annual Samba Parade Finale on Sunday night.

OLD BUS DEPOT MARKETS- RETRO DEPOT IN OCTOBER

FLORIADE 2016: WEEK THREE

Week three of Floriade will involve many fun and interesting events and activities for both the kids and the adults. This week will be continuing the school holiday celebrations with many fun activities for the kids throughout the week. Kids activities include an obstacle course, Reptiles Inc., and various planting workshops.

For the adults, activities and events include an NRL game development, the National Capital Ballet School, seated yoga, Tea4Two, various performances, and much more.

RAW CANBERRA: VERVE

RAW is an indie arts organisation for artists, by artists. They focus on spotlighting indie underground talent to the public. Every second month they hand-select and showcase 30+ artists in film, fashion, music, visual art, photography, performing art, hair and make up for a one night creative explosion!

Verve will feature a huge lineup of 30-40+ of Canberra’s best emerging artists across music, fashion, hair, makeup, performing art, visual art and photography. It’s going to be a mammoth one-night creative explosion!

TERRIBLE TWOS: CHEF’S HAT MENU AT LILOTANG

Since opening in 2014, Lilotang has been awarded a Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Chef’s Hat for two the second year running. To celebrate this great honour, Head Chef Shunsuke Ota has created new dishes for a tasting menu, available for a limited time only.

The menu includes: Beef Tataki with sake-steamed oyster and ponzu salad, and Rice Malt marinated salmon with black garlic, Ikura, citrus miso & aged black vinegar
