Show & Tell Market

Show & Tell is Canberra’s contemporary design market, showcasing the work of designers, makers, illustrators and graphic artists. At Show & Tell there’s something for everyone: artwork, terrariums, jewellery, homewares, candles, ceramics, textiles, accessories, and more. With delicious food and live music thrown into the mix, we’ve got the perfect recipe for a fun night of Christmas shopping.

A range of options are available from local vendors including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Most of the stallholders at Show & Tell have card facilities available, and there will be an automatic teller machine on site.

The building has disabled access including parking.

There are a range of parking options available along Emu Bank as well as public transport.

The Nutcracker

At midnight on Christmas Eve, little Clara begins a magical journey into a wondrous world of toys who come to life, King Rat and his giant mice, delicate dancing snowflakes and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy, who reigns over the Kingdom of Sweets.

The Nutcracker is one of world’s most beloved ballets. Accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s famous score, this is an enchanting experience for the whole family.

For the first time in its 55-year history, Queensland Ballet will bring The Nutcracker (one of its sentimental favourites) to the national capital.

Happening 23 – 27 November, Wednesday to Saturday – 7.30pm, Saturday and Sunday – 1.30pm at Canberra Theatre Centre, London Circuit, Civic Square.

Canberrans are invited to enjoy food stalls, live entertainment and free activities for kids including a rock climbing wall, jumping castle and face painting on Saturday 26 November at Kites for Karralika.

Bottle Your Own Sangiovese At Murrumbateman Winery

Ever thought about bottling your own wine? Probably not, but they bet you are now! In November, Murrumbateman Winery will be bottling their 2016 Sangiovese and they want to share the experience. Come along and bottle six of your very own wines.

They’ll guide you through each step from filling the bottles to capping and labelling your wine.

Two sessions are available on each date, at 10.30am or 3pm.

MicFest 2016

With live performances from Rick ‘N’ Roll, Flawless Attendance, The Couch Crushers, The Lumberjacks Whites as well as solo, duo and electronica performances, MICfest 2016 presented by Canberra Institute of Technology will be a great experience for all! With free entry combined with a BBQ and thirsty quenching drinks available for purchase, MICFest 2016 will showcase those skills of students undertaking Music Business, Performance, Electronica and Technical subjects. Sundaze At The Museum Bar – Brother Be and Angus Dibden

Head to National Museum of Australia for Sundaze with quality DJs, live acts and great food and drinks this spring. It’s also a chance to check out A History of the World in 100 Objects, with extended Sunday opening hours.

Armed with a mission to put a smile on your face, Brother Be’s music is a celebration of all good things in life. Traversing the worlds of folk, pop, funk and rock, the resulting sound is somewhere between Of Monsters and Men and Mumford and Sons. Their upbeat party anthems will have you putting aside your troubles to enjoy the bright side of any day.

DESIGN CANBERRA

Design Canberra is an annual festival celebrating and promoting Canberra as a global city of design.

Canberra is Australia’s cool little capital. Design Canberra, now in its third year, showcases design excellence across all disciplines—the best the ACT has to offer. From 27 October to 25 November, Design Canberra will present over 100 exhibitions, events, activations and workshops, covering landscape design, architecture, industrial design, technology, fashion, jewellery and more. This year features a tribute to internationally renowned designer, Robert Foster, a youth workshop with Francis Sollano, a ‘trashion’ and installations artist from the Philippines, tours of the living rooms of acclaimed Canberra houses, and open artist studios.

Design Canberra is for all interests and ages. Most events are free to the public. More than 26,000 visitors flock to the festival, including from interstate.

THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD IN 100 OBJECTS FROM THE BRITISH MUSEUM

It provides an exceptional opportunity to witness compelling human stories expressed through a unique and beautiful collection of artefacts drawn from across the globe.

Each object featured in the exhibition marks a point on the journey through history, from two million years ago until the present.

SHOW PONY’S Summer Soiree EVENT

Get along and enjoy a relaxed sophisticated summer afternoon in Canberra. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the end of the year festive season in style with friends on the lawns by the lake with a decadent gourmet BBQ lunch, sparkling champagne and live music under Showpony’s beautiful high top Sperry tent.
