The 32 young dancers in QL2 Dance’s Connected are used to connecting online, but they have worked with renowned dance artists Sara Black, Kristina Chan and Lingua Franca to create three works about connection, with no tablets or phones — just bodies, movement and some very loud voices. Connected is a remarkable triple bill of diverse pieces performed by QL2’s Quantum Leap ensemble — young contemporary dancers from Canberra and region, plus visitors from Thailand, Perth and regional NSW.

DashTheBrave_Santa Speedo Shuffle

Join Cystic Fibrosis ACT on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin near Regatta Point this Sunday for Cystic Fibrosis ACT’s annual 6500 Santa Speedo. Come along to witness over 100 Santas brace the Canberra cold dressed in speedos’ and a Santa hat to run a course as many times as possible in 65 minutes.

Registrations are closed to run as a Santa, however you can still register for the Christmas in July Fun Run. All funds raised support Canberrans living with cystic fibrosis.

In 2016, a remarkable triple bill from one of Australia’s most loved ensembles. OUR land people stories is a new contemporary dance work showcasing the expressive talents of Bangarra and the rich stories of Australia’s cultural heritage.

Artistic Director Stephen Page tells the story of internationally acclaimed visual artist Nyapanyapa Yunupingu from North East Arnhem Land. This piece draws inspiration from her incredible life story and unique paintings.

Canberräng 2016, Canberra’s annual swing dance festival. This year’s theme is the Undead take Manhattan.

Expect to see fangs and fur alongside New York style pin up girls. Luckily these monsters are friendly and would love to dance with you!
