After selling out the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and a national tour with her very first one-woman show last year, Rosie Waterland is back with her brand new offering, Crazy Lady “describing in detail, every lie I ever told”.

Rosie is a best-selling, award-nominated author, and a columnist, TV host, comedian and screenwriter. Her hilarious satirical recaps of the first season of The Bachelor Australia earned her household name status.

Opening AF Classic Film Festival

The Alliance Française Classic Film Festival is returning for its anticipated third edition.

In association with Palace Cinemas, the Alliance Française and Studiocanal will again hold this evocative event, which parallels the renowned Alliance Française French Film Festival.

The 2017 season will focus on the iconic Jean-Paul Belmondo, showcasing restored versions of six of his most renowned films from 1961 to 1974.  Considered a key figure of the French New Wave, Belmondo’s career of almost 60 years has been internationally fêted through Awards such as the César, the Golden Lion and the Golden Camera, a Career Achievement Award at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and an honorary Palme d’Or from the Cannes Film Festival. In recognition of his influence beyond the confines of cinema, Belmondo was also honoured with the National Order of the Legion of Honour in 2007 and the National Order of Merit in 2017.

Between thriller and drama, comedy and adventure, audiences will be invited to savour films as they were meant to be experienced on the big screen. You will rediscover ‘Bébel’s’ magnificence in the company of actors Charles Boyer, Serge Reggiani, Emmanuelle Riva, Gérard Depardieu, Françoise Dorléac, Raymond Devos, François Périer and many more.

SEGUE 2017


Segue is a multifaced seven day long festival of the arts at The Street Theatre, captained in 2017 by Segue artist-in-residence Mikey Weinkove.

Hartley Hall Markets: Celebrating their 30th birthday


Hartley Lifecare would like to invite all their loyal supporters to join them on Sunday, September 3rd from 10am – 3pm at the Hartley Hall Markets, to celebrate their 30th Birthday with a big party.

The official ceremony will begin at 11am on the Pavilion side of the markets, located at the Hall Showground. The ceremony will conclude with the unveiling of a commemorative sign before the fun continues throughout the day with heaps of live entertainment, children’s activities and rides, a petting zoo, lots of tasty food, a best dressed stall competition, best dressed dog competition, reptiles from the National Zoo and Aquarium, a flash mob, Fire trucks, the Morris Dancers plus lots more !!

Today the Hartley Hall Markets continues to sell home grown goods—fresh produce, baked goods, plants, candles, jewellery, furniture, clothing, pottery, children’s toys, crafts, unique gifts, and more. They are organised by Hartley Lifecare and supported by a large number of hardworking and dedicated volunteers.

Entry to the Hartley Hall Markets is by gold coin donation. All proceeds go to Hartley Lifecare, an organisation that provides quality accommodation, respite, and community services to those living with physical and complex disabilities.

OldBusDepotMarkets-Multicultural Sunday

Love experiencing different cultures? On the first Sunday of the month, the Old Bus Depot Markets add a touch of international ‘flavour’ to the markets. It’s like touring the world without leaving the markets.

What might you find? A variety of stallholders offer handcrafted items from around the world – think gorgeous jewellery, clothing, accessories and homewares with a multicultural feel – and of course plenty of tasty international cuisine in their food hall.

Happening Sunday 3 September from 10am-4pm at the Kingston Former Transport Depot, Wentworth Avenue, Kingston.




BentSpoke Brewing Co is holding an SOS Party (Start Of Spring). The free family-friendly event will be a great time to see a production brewery in action while having some good times and beers as the weather turns warmer.

Features will include:

  • The revelation and launch of BentSpoke’s new “big and hoppy” canned beer

Local wine dogs, Mollie (7) and Tannin (1), are hosting a spring dog party to launch their new wines – Mollie’s Block Fumé Blanc and Tannin’s Wild Pinot Grrr-is.

Friendly dogs and their human companions are invited to join in the fun. There will be pooch and people food for purchase, afternoon adventures to the dam, celebrity dog trivia and a collection for the ACT RSPCA.

Mollie and Tannin had rough starts in life, but thankfully were rescued as puppies by the ACT RSPCA before finding their fur-ever home at Murrumbateman Winery.

Night Ski & Ride at Corin Forest in the Tidbinbilla Mountain Ranges! Take a quick 45-minute drive to the ACT’s only ski field and enjoy the thrill of skiing beneath the stars and lights.

Get out into the winter air with a line-up of themed nights. Every night has a theme but the hill will still be open for all to use.

Thursday is Girls Night! Girls, take your girlfriend, your mum, your sister or your Nan along at no cost and get free coaching to improve your skills in a relaxed and chilled atmosphere.

Wednesday is Park Night, featuring a different rail or jump every week. Friday is Family Pizza Night with Corin’s famous wood-fired pizzas for only $10 each, and Saturday’s All-In is an open session for all.

The cafeteria will be open so you can warm up by the open fireplace, roast giant marshmallows and enjoy a wide selection of meals, including gourmet wood-fired pizzas.
