Get ready to toboggan, slide and skate in the city

HerCanberra Team

In just two weeks’ time, Canberra’s premier winter event Winter Festival in the City will transform Garema Place into a winter wonderland with an open air ice rink, giant inflatable slide and toboggan.

Kids and big kids alike will experience the exhilaration of toboggan racing on the custom made toboggan terror ride. On the toboggan terror you will fly through the festival at speed as you traverse dramatic snow hills.

Winter Festival organiser Andrew Lemon says the toboggan terror is a fantastic addition to the already much loved skate rink.

“We are bringing two new rides to Canberra this year in addition to the skate rink, this will ensure there will be something for everyone to enjoy,” says Andrew.

Using real snow the toboggan slope will sit two stories high, sliding from the top floor of a multi-story purpose built structure.

After a turn on the toboggan, you can jump, slip and slide from high in the sky on the inflatable slide. Challenge your family and friends to a race or just slide down solo.

Tickets for the toboggan and slide are available for pre-purchase online at $7 and $5 respectively.
