10+ places for a ‘Summer Session’

Belinda Neame

“Sun is shining, the weather is sweet. Make you want to move your dancing feet.”

Canberra comes to life in Summer. The balmy weather is made for al fresco dining, drinks and music. Here are 10+ of our favourite places to indulge in a summer session. Grab your friends and settle in.

PICNIC

Every Friday until 18 March, pop-up bar picnic at the National Library of Australia will be offering classic drinks like gin and tonics, wine, spirits and craft beers from the outdoor bar; as well as live cooking demonstrations and a live DJ. In addition to the demonstrations, the outdoor kitchen will be serving Asian food inspired by the Celestial Empire exhibition: freshly made fried rice or noodle with a choice of beef, chicken, tofu or prawn skewers or a steamer basket of Yum Cha favourites.
