Imagine a city where you could shop for your favourite labels, books, and everything else while enjoying the world’s best coffee (literally).

Imagine if that city was Canberra.

Caffeinds will be frothing at the mouth at the news that GreenHouse Coffee and Co will soon open its doors at the Canberra Centre, boasting ONA Coffee and a pretty impressive pedigree.

Michael Rose, the brains behind Canberra shopping centre staple, The Espresso Room, has again joined forces with good friend and business partner, Sasa Sestic, 2015 World Barista Champion to bring Greenhouse to the CBD.

“Sasa and myself have had different partnerships together in the past but this is a special collaboration for the both of us,” says Michael. “We’re looking forward to giving shoppers access to a high-quality product.”

GreenHouse’s interior will be modern and welcoming, with an emphasis on sustainable design.

“We [enlisted] Giant Design from Surry Hills to document and design our vision – lots of different recycled timbers and imported marbles and copper,” says Michael.

In line with ONA’s own philosophy of fair trade and corporate social responsibility, GreenHouse is serious about environmental responsibility when it comes to serving their high quality coffee. Their all-day menu also shows a commitment to local produce.

“It’s going to be healthy and ‘source local’—as much local produce as possible from farmers and meat suppliers,” says Michael. “The menu will rotate seasonally with breakfast and brunch being available at all times.”

The seven-days opening hours of Canberra Centre will give shoppers the opportunity to taste ONA coffee on any given day.

“Personally, I’m just looking forward to customers’ reactions,” says Michael. “Being able to get a truly quality product within a shopping centre is pretty awesome. A lot of people have been waiting for this to open.”

As you can expect from the world’s best barista, you’ll find some unusual and exciting drinks on the menu.

“We’re going to be offering six different coffees as well as carbonated Cascara on tap and on-tap cold brew.”

Michael also says there will be iced coffee on tap, made possible through keg systems, which is sure to be a treat in the summer months.

GreenHouse Coffee Co. will be opening in late November at Canberra Centre. Keep an eye on their Facebook page in the meantime.
