Hate public speaking? Try this

HerCanberra Team

Does public speaking made you want to revisit your lunch?

Do find yourself avoiding tasks or roles that could have you presenting in front of an audience?

Pre-presentation nerves are normal, but if a dislike of public speaking is holding you back professionally, something has to change.

Enter TEDX Canberra, the organisation that puts hundreds of influential and eloquent people on stage each year.

TedX has developed a reputation across the world as the premier facilitator of inspiring, educational and surprising public talks, which is why HerCanberra is proud to partner with them for an exclusive event for Canberra women.

HerCanberra and TEDxCanberra present Public Speaking for Women: Finding your voice in professional presentations.

Led by Katrina Howard, public speaking and presentation skills development expert, and some of the crew responsible for putting the speakers on the TEDxCanberra stage, this three-hour interactive workshop is targeted at professional women and will build skills, confidence and competence. You’ll learn how to connect with your authentic voice and how to utilise that effectively in public speaking and professional presentations and shake those pre-presentation nerves.

So what’s the tangible benefit from the workshop?

Bring a real life public speaking assignment or task along to work on and receive feedback on progress with your presentation so far, as well as ideas on how to make it more engaging and appealing.

If you don’t have a ‘real life’ task, we’ll help you develop and practice the skills you’ll learn through practical exercises.

Small group coaching will be available throughout the event with Katrina and other representatives from TEDxCanberra.

Ready to nail public speaking?

The workshop will be followed by networking drinks and canapés from 5pm to 6pm. Buy your ticket below!
