Beauty in the detail at Canberra Centre

Laura Peppas

Canberrans are invited to discover the “beauty in the detail” with the launch of Canberra Centre’s 2016 autumn/winter campaign.

With a focus on the finer details in life, the campaign will include free beauty bars, style master classes, tech workshops and renowned beauty experts in Centre – adding a side of pampering to the usual shopping experience.

It all begins this Saturday with the launch of Beauty Bar, located outside Witchery on level 1.

Open on selected Saturdays, the bar will treat guests to a free drop-in pamper experience and glass of champagne, with a choice between a mini-makeover or a make-up touch-up ahead of their Saturday night.

For those who want to learn the tricks of the trade, editor of online beauty destination Gritty Pretty, Eleanor Pendleton, will hold a beauty master class in May. Eleanor will divulge her top beauty buys and also share insider tricks to update your look, beat signs of jetlag and apply winged eyeliner (very tricky at the best of times.)

Those seeking winter style inspiration will be in their element at the Centre’s style master class hosted by Vogue Australia creative consultant Talisa Sutton, who will provide guidance and seasonal inspiration for the upcoming season. Talisa, who is also the founder of digital fashion and lifestyle blog Badlands, will reveal her favourite designers and how to buy timeless pieces for your wardrobe plus how to shop for your interiors.

Men won’t be left out, with a men’s tech and style master class in June hosted by Huw Bennett from the luxury-minded editorial team behind men’s style site Oliver Grand. In the class, Huw will provide practical advice on how to develop a personal style, referencing key menswear trends.

The Centre will also release their lifestyle Magazine in Centre as well as “inspo” on their blog.

Canberra Centre Manager Amanda Paradiso says the concept looks to capture the “beauty in detail.”

“This season we’re looking at the finer details of beauty and fashion through the guidance of key fashion influencers,” Amanda says.

“The Autumn Winter 2016 Masterclass Series highlights the Centre’s commitment to activating the city centre. By aligning with nationally acclaimed talent, the Centre provides an opportunity for our own strong creative and entrepreneurial communities in Canberra to have access to national  authorities and experts with a view to inspiring  the continuation of Canberra’s development and emergence as a destination for life and style in Australia.”
