Day to Night with the Glam Squad

We’ve all been there before.

You watch a beauty tutorial on YouTube, and attempt to replicate at home. Sometimes you pull it off, and other times you end up with make-up in all the wrong places.

To remedy this, local dream team of make-up artist Jacqui Scott and hairdresser Lexi Bannister, have got you covered for the ultimate beauty afternoon at A Flick of Hares salon in Kingston on Sunday 4 December. They’re offering an indulgent afternoon of hair and make-up tips and tricks, that you can take home and implement into your own beauty routine.

Lexi says they will focus on teaching guests how to create a look that can be adjusted for during the day, as well as into the evening.

Make up by Jacqui

“Jacqui is going to do a day-to-night look, [which is] easy for people to replicate themselves because it’s dandy for you to watch a professional do it, and [then] you try and do it yourself but really have no idea,” she explains.

“So she’s just going to break it down and make it a little bit easier.”

Guests will also be able to have short, one-on-one consultations with Jacqui, to get make-up tips specific to their face and skin type.

Lexi will be demonstrating how to perfect the wave, showcasing styles for all occasions.

“With the hair, I’ve got three different waves that’ll be on there. My signature wave, a glamour wave, and a beach wave,” she says.

The hands-on nature of the workshop means that guests will be able to practise what they learn in real time instead of just watching, says Lexi.

“I’m going to do a demo first, and then what we’re going to do is actually more interactive. Everyone has to bring their heat styler that they use all the time, and then you have to recreate [the hairstyles] on yourself, straight away.”

“Along the way we’ll give our tips that we think are really great that we use all the time, that you can use at home as well.”

The afternoon will also include a decadent selection of refreshments including canapes, champagne and wine to sample throughout the workshop, and prizes up for grabs for two lucky winners, which includes a colour with Lexi and makeup with Jacqui, which would surely be perfect for your next big event.
