FASHFEST 2016 tickets on sale

HerCanberra Team

It’s a date many of us have been waiting for, and now it’s arrived. Tickets for FASHFEST are on sale now!

So much has changed since FASHFEST exploded on to the scene in 2013. The event is bigger, more dynamic and more daring.

This year, more than 40 labels will launch new collections on the runway. Some of Canberra’s hottest designers will be there, including some who have been with the event before, including Karen Lee, Zilpah Tart, SZN, Edition, Hunter, Sovata and Pure Pod. Stay with us for designer profiles and other stories sharing the inside scoop.

There’s a long lineup of new labels from interstate and overseas, including New Zealand (Melanie Child returns) and from further afield like Mumbai (the label Vitamin by Sonalika). And this year there will be an exhibition in the lobby of exquisite flats by FletcherLovell, each lovingly handcrafted in Spain. Shoe fetish anyone?

“Beyond fashion, FASHFEST is about the creative industry as a whole, incorporating live music and original films, makeup and more into a spectacular show,”says Andrea Hutchinson, who co-founded the event with husband Clint.

“New musical acts never seen before at FASHFEST will entertain guests this year, and, as always, sound and lighting by Elite Event Technology will be super amazing and so inspirational.”

Fab fashion aside, FASHFEST is also just a great social night out. It’s a lot of fun to check out the crowds, mingle, sip on champers, catch up with friends, and then settle in for a show that’s pure entertainment. And perhaps the best thing is that you don’t need to be ‘Instafamous’ to score a seat — they’re on sale for everyone who loves fashion.

This year, tickets range from $49 (rows 3 to 7 for tiered seating) to $135 for front row possies and lots of options in-between. Gold is $69 and Platinum $100.

www.fashfest.com.au has all the details, including on special deals like group bookings (buy five tickets, get one free for silver seats) and two-shows package for those who need a big fashion fix.

You may want to bump up your experience with an exclusive, guided backstage tour. Last year, we had a sneak peek backstage, which was buzzing with creatives flitting here, there and everywhere, working their butts off to get the show out on time. It was a fantastic chance to see what goes on behind the scenes.

Here’s a hot tip before you buy: while on the FASHFEST website, check out the themes for the six shows (two a night—one at 6.30pm and one at 8.30pm) as well as the designer, muso and filmmaker bios. It’ll help you find the perfect fit for your interests and tastes.

FASHFEST will be held again this year at the multiple award-winning National Convention Centre Canberra. See you there!
