Active-wear is no longer just for the gym.

The much-anticipated active-wear collection from P.E Nation was recently launched in Canberra at a VIP shopping event at Rebel Muse. After working together at Sass & Bide, designers Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning decided to create a range of active-wear for the busy lifestyle of the modern woman. The range features multi-tasking coordinates that can be styled for a day that ranges from grabbing coffee with a friend to the office to the gym.

Rebel Muse founder Alicia Xyrakis is no stranger to this busy lifestyle, with Rebel Muse also celebrating its first birthday last night. She is already a fan of P.E Nation and sees it as functional and fashionable.

“Being active and going to the gym is such an influence in our lifestyles these days, and I think that’s awesome,” she says.

“We have to work it into our busy timetables, we’re always on the go. I think having active-wear that’s really trendy and cool makes it a lot easier, who doesn’t feel like going to the gym when you look cool?” she laughs.

“When I got my first piece of P.E, I couldn’t wait to wake up for my personal training session the next morning. When I got there my trainer told me I looked really cool, and I was like ‘I know!’”

Canberra stylist Sarah Kelly is a regular at Rebel Muse and was impressed by the P.E Nation collection.

“I just think it’s so interesting to watch how sports luxe has become such a staple in the fashion market,” she says. “I think its such a great trend and what [Pip and Claire] have done is a great mix. It’s obviously active wear, but it is morphing into that sports luxe style that you can wear all day every day.

“I think it’s a great compliment to what Alicia has here at Rebel Muse. I love the fact that even though I’m a massive online shopper, people are willing to come in store for the VIP experience.”

The most popular P.E Nation pieces on the night were striking leggings and retro bomber jackets. The sleek crops and versatile tees also turned heads, and were styled in unexpected combinations. The designs take inspiration from classic sports wear updated for the street with a tomboy sensibility.

P.E Nation is available at Rebel Muse in store now. To find out more about Rebel Muse, click here.
