Ultraformer III: Immediate effect

Debby Harrington

There are very few women out there who delight in a beauty routine that takes 20 steps.

We lather up with creams and lotions and potions, have this treatment and try that one, all in the name of beauty. Now there’s another one to add to the list that quite possibly surpasses them all—it’s called the Ultraformer III and this revolutionary face and neck lifting and tightening treatment is now available in Canberra.

Its advanced technology is non-invasive, which Clear Complexions founder and head of nursing Suzie Hoitink says is all down to innovation.

“This new technology is micro and macro focused ultrasound that precisely targets the muscles under the layer of the skin – the layer that surgeons pull back when doing a facelift – causing new collagen stimulation, providing long-term tightening of the skin,” she explains.

“What makes me excited is Ultraformer’s immediate effect on the skin, the deeper penetration and overall better client experience, shorter treatment time, no downtime and minimal – if any – discomfort.”

So it sounds promising. But what does it feel like, and does it get results? We asked 63-year-old Mary-Anne Alvaro, who attended the launch of the Ultraformer at Clear Complexions a few weeks back. When she saw a woman around her age having the treatment as a demonstration and not even budging or wincing throughout the procedure, Mary-Anne decided to give it a go.

“The pain level and discomfort level is minimal compared to other treatments I’ve had with Thermage (radiofrequency) and Fraxel (a type of laser treatment),” she says.

Mary-Anne explains that she was particularly interested in the Ultraformer after finding out it targets lines and wrinkles closer to the eye area, where previous procedures have been unable to go. This is because of the unique wrinkle cartridge that can treat superficial wrinkles around the eyes and lips.

“I had my whole face, eyes and neck done and I’m going back for my décolletage,” she says and results-wise Mary Anne says ‘so far so good’.

“It’s early days. The Clear Complexions nurses explained it will take a number of weeks and months to get the full result, but my skin looks very clear,” she says.

“I actually got a nice compliment afterwards—someone telling me I looked 42! Whatever I’m doing, I think it’s working.”

According to Suzie, many will see an immediate effect.

“Clients’ facial contours and fine lines show further improvement at eight weeks, peak results at the 12-week mark and additional firming throughout the subsequent 12 months,” she says.
