Winter Street Stylin’ in Canberra

Hayley O'Neill and Laura Peppas

It may be cold outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your wardrobe. We hit the streets to suss out your winter style…

2a

Becc, Bonner. Wearing: Dangerfield jacket, Sportsgirl sunglasses. “I tend to mix it up a bit with what colours I wear because of my hair. I describe my style as a bit rockabilly – I front a band. This is my favourite jacket, I wore it all across Europe and it kept me warm the whole time.”

1a-3

Jess, Duffy. Wearing: Betty Page dress. “I would describe my style as 1950s pin up. This dress is super warm; it’s so thick and I wear a petticoat underneath so I can keep wearing it in winter.”

2b

Lyndon, Watson. Wearing: Paul Smith. “For me winter is a time to dress up a bit and add layers. My favourite store in Canberra would probably have to be David Jones. I would describe my style as preppy.”

3a

Molly, Downer. Wearing: Bardot dress, vintage shirt. “I’ve had purple hair for a while – it goes well with black and white. My clothing tends to have a grunge influence.”

4a

Tom, Turner. Wearing: Nike shoes, Just Jeans beanie, custom made jacket.  “I buy a lot of my stuff from SurfStitch online, I’m from the coast so my style is pretty laid-back.”
