Real weddings: Leah and Shaun

HerCanberra Team

Leah and Shaun’s beautiful spring wedding, held on a sweltering day at Terrara House Estate, featured stunning gardens and dreamy reception styling. The lovely bride takes us through the big day…

Getting ready

The venue (Terrara House Estate, in NSW) has a bridal salon on site, so we spent the morning there getting pampered in the air-conditioning whist it was 38 degrees plus outside!

The dress

I had my dress made by Melbourne designer, Helen Manuell. I sent some images through to her of what I liked and she drew some sketches and sourced some material (lace) to make the dress.

The ceremony

Our ceremony was held in the beautiful gardens of Terrara House and our reception was held metres away in a marquee.

One of the best things we did (that I would strongly recommend to others) was having our wedding photos taken on site before we got married!

It made our ceremony so much more relaxed and took away most of the nerves! It also meant we could spend the whole time with our guests, and not disappear for a couple of hours between the ceremony and reception for our photos.

We wanted everything in the one place and Terrara House makes planning a wedding so easy, with most things being done in-house.

The day was just perfect! We had a great time, despite the hot weather we didn’t want the day to end.

We also had the best band, Hard Cover, they set the mood from day to night and had everyone up dancing and having fun!

Most of our guests have said our wedding was the most fun wedding they’d been to. They loved the music, atmosphere, the food and how relaxed it all was! The venue provided some fun activities and beautiful views and gardens for plenty of great photos.
