Canberra Walk & Ride Week: National Arboretum Forest Walk

Canberra celebrates active travel during March each year. The inaugural week was held in 2017.

The intent of Canberra Walk and Ride Week is to promote walking, cycling and use of public transport, to collect data about these movements through the use of the ACTiveLog Smartphone App and to host a festival of events and activities to celebrate and further promote walking, cycling and use of public transport.

All Canberrans are encouraged to walk, ride and catch public transport as often as possible for any journey purpose during the week. It might be your commute to school, to work, to a meeting or appointment during the day, to a social outing, to the shops on the weekend, or to one of the events during the week.

Discover some of the Arboretum’s forests with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Learn about the trees and their stories. Moderate walk, uneven ground in places. Wear sturdy shoes and a hat and bring drinking water. Free activity. Meet at the Information Desk in the Village Centre.
