Capital Hotel Group Open Day

Canberra is an events town. Chances are that in any given month you’ll either attend or organise some kind of an event, be it a cocktail function, wedding, conference, workshop, dinner or something a little different. And chances are they’re usually held at one of the ‘usual suspects’. That’s why Capital Hotel Group is thinking outside the square and staging an interactive event that showcases all their properties: Avenue Hotel, Aria Hotel, Clifton Suites on Northbourne and Pavilion on Northbourne.

Designed for people who are looking for event venues—whether they’re an EA/PA, event manager or bride-to-be—the Capital Hotel Group Open Day on Thursday 3 September provides inspiration for a range of events and shows you how they can be styled or made more interactive.

Penny Nowlan, Director of Sales and Marketing with Capital Hotel Group, says that one of the features of the Open Day will be the opportunity for people to get ‘up close and personal’ with the venues.

“All four properties will be open from 3.30 to 5.30pm for site inspections for people to come and view the hotels at a time that suits them rather than locked in for a ‘famil’ that takes them from hotel to hotel. “

Guests will be provided with the opportunity to view the different room types available at each property, as well as event spaces and other hotel features: gym, pool, restaurant/bar, guest services lounge, and more.

Also held from 3:30pm is the event’s headliner—an exhibition at Pavilion on Northbourne (which has had a fresh makeover), which will provide guests with information on everything from how to style events, to building a successful team. A series of short demonstrations and toolbox talks will be held between 3:30pm and 5:30pm, and people can either drop in for one or two, or stay for an informative afternoon.

“We want to show how people can create their own hospitality experiences with personality and style, by bringing all the services together at one venue,” says Penny.

“Our Toolbox Talks will demonstrate the types of guest speakers you can secure for an event, and also give attendees some ‘quick and dirty tips’ to take away.”

After the talks, it’s Happy Hour with Gallagher Wines and the star of the show will be a Peach and Lychee Bramble made with Gallagher Lychee Cider. Guests will also get a taste of the food that they might enjoy at a wedding, Christmas party or corporate function.

So, whether you’re seeking a beautiful atrium for a cocktail function, or somewhere a little different for a trade show or conference, this free event is worth your time.
