In Conversation: Christine Anu

Enjoy a night of music, memories and conversation with Christine Anu at the National Film and Sound Archive.

In this National Reconciliation Week event, Christine will discuss her career, life and work as an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the community, as well as the importance of Indigenous languages in cultural identity. She will also be performing a special selection of acoustic tracks – including songs from the Torres Strait Islands, and her hits My Island Home and Sunshine on a Rainy Day.

In 2016, Christine’s 1995 award-winning single My Island Home was added to the NFSA’s Sounds of Australia registry. She played to billions around the world at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, and has won multiple awards, including ARIA, Deadly, Green Room, and Sydney Theatre Awards, just to name a few.

She has also made appearances in feature films including Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! and The Matrix Reloaded and is currently the host of the Friday and Saturday national evening show on ABC local radio.

Don’t miss this special one-night-only event!
