Franco’s Hair Salon joins the effort against domestic violence

Franco’s Hair Salon, L’Oreal, and the White Ribbon Capital Region Committee are getting together to address domestic violence in the Canberra community.

The group are partnering to raise awareness and funds, all while giving survivors and the community a pampering.

When you think about it, we tell our Hairdressers everything. These chats are more-often-than-not light-hearted and a good chance to get a load off our chests.

James Calabria from Franco’s said “hairdressers are regularly privy to the signals of domestic violence. An astute hairdresser can be all the difference in helping identify sufferers and being able to put them in touch with right help”.

That is why Canberra institution, Franco’s Hair Salon is teaming up with the White Ribbon Capital Committee to raise awareness and much-needed funds to help address domestic violence in our community.

Franco’s hairdressers will receive guidance from White Ribbon Australia and Karinya House on spotting signs a client might be suffering domestic violence as well as referral points in Canberra to help anyone they might identify.

“It’s been a wonderful opportunity to partner with Franco’s and White Ribbon to keep up the collective effort and help rid our community of domestic violence. Especially the women of Karinya House who are venerable pregnant and parenting women who are often survivors of domestic violence themselves” said Sarah Kelly, President of Karinya House home for mothers and babies.

Franco’s are also opening their new Salon to the whole community to help raise funds for White Ribbon’s vital primary prevention initiatives and education programs right here in the Canberra region.

You’re invited to get a treatment and blowdry at their new Salon in the Sydney Building, 15 East Row in Civic from 10 am to 5 pm Sunday 29 April.

You can pay what you like with all proceeds going to White Ribbon Australia.

Bookings are essential on 6249 7991.
