Leading Change: Country to Canberra Charity Panel Event

Join us for drinks, canapés and an exciting Panel Event on Wednesday, 27 July to empower young rural and remote women. All funds raised will go toward Country to Canberra’s award-winning ‘Power Trip’ and ‘Project Empower’ programs, which are run purely by volunteers and deliver education and leadership opportunities to some of Australia’s most isolated communities.

The Panel will focus on the topic Leading Change: Empowering Women in Male-Domainated Industries” and will be MC’d by the inspiring Amanda Whitley, HerCanberra Founder and 2016 ACT Woman of the Year!

The esteemed Panel also includes:

  • Air Marshal Leo Davies, AO CSC – Chief of Air Force
  • Dr Sarah Pearson – CEO of CBR Innovation Netwok
  • Ms Liza Maimone – Managing Partner, PwC Australia

The evening will commence at 5.00pm for networking and drinks, with the Panel kicking off at 5.30pm. From fast jet pilot recruitment to women in STEM, the panellists will discuss diverse topics until 6.40pm, including audience Q&A. An opportunity to meet the panellists, as well as more mingling, canapés and drinks will follow. Please note: limited tickets are available.

Excitingly, the fundraiser is being held on the same day as Country to Canberra’s 2016 Leadership Competition launch! The competition provides students with an opportunity to speak out about gender equality, and awards winners with a ‘Power Trip’ to Canberra to undertake leadership and public speaking training, meet with inspiring politicians and CEOs, connect with mentors and more. #C2CLeadingChange
