Triathlons consist of swimming, bike riding and running. A number of triathalons hosted across Australia are charitable events which have entry fees which go towards the cause of your choosing. Triathlons is a mentally and physically challenging experience. However the reward of self accomplishment and achievement once you complete your first triathlon is something you will hold onto forever.
The key to training for a triathlon is slowly building up your fitness levels up so you decrease your chances of injury. Stretching before and after you train is essential part of your muscle preparation and recovery. Finding the right club and/or coach from the ACT is a valuable asset to have when preparing for a triathlon competition. Triathlon coaches have the required skills and knowledge to get you competition ready.
Season and times:
All seasons, however competitive triathlons are predominantly held over Summer.

Cost:
Cost’s vary depending on the Club and seasonal programs on offer.
Level of experience required:
Dependent on your ability there are a range of distances for beginners, intermediate and elite participants.
– Enticer or Novice swim less than 750m, ride less than 20km and run less than 5km.
– Sprint swim 750m, ride 20km and run 5km.
– Olympic or Classic swim for 1500m, ride 40km, run 10km.
– Long Course / Half Iron Distance swim between 2500 and 3800m, ride 80 to 120km and run between 20 to 30km.
– Iron Distance swim 3800m, ride 180km and run 42km.
