Having arrived at our seventh weekend in lockdown, we can understand you are slowly running out of ways to keep yourself and the family occupied.

For those of you who are fans of AFL, or sport in general, the AFL Grand Final this Saturday is one you can’t miss! The Western Bulldogs will take on the Melbourne Demons in what is expected to be a great game of footy.

The pre-game and half-time entertainment are always topics of conversation with a number of local WA artists to perform before the first bounce and Birds of Tokyo to perform at half-time with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.

First bounce is at 7.15 pm Saturday night and you can watch it on Channel 7.

DIY Wine Tour

While we can’t roam through wine country right now, why not create your own cellar door experience?

From going on a bike tour to the local shops, choosing your tasting menu and enjoying the wine regions of your home, here are our tips on how to have your own wine tour, lockdown style!

Floriade: Reimagined is back for 2021, filling Canberra suburbs with pops of colour and a little bit of extra joy. Over 400 plantar boxes have been scattered across Canberra for the community to enjoy, totalling over 60,000 blooms!

Refer to the community map here to plan your walk around the closest boxes to you. If you want to enjoy Floriade in a different way, video tours, podcasts and other online resources can be found here.

Get Baking

What better way to fill in the time and keep the kids entertained than with a baking session! The recipe options online are endless, from cupcakes and brownies, to loaded cookies, slices, cakes and The Bomb Banana Bread.

Your local supermarket should have most of the ingredients you need to create your favourite baked goods from scratch so head to the shops and get baking.

Baking not your style? Check out our list of dessert delivery options to enjoy something sweet without the mess!

Scavenger Hunt for a great cause

Domestic Violence Crisis Service ACT (DVCS) have put together a Scavenger Hunt for the Canberra Community! Featuring six rounds, all of which commence on a different date, you can participate in as many or as few rounds as you like.

At $5 per round, it is a great way to get the family involved in an activity while supporting an excellent cause and having a reason to get outdoors for your recreation time!
