Dearest gentle reader, we’d like to humbly break the news that a Bridgertonian ball is coming to Canberra at the end of September – and it promises to be a night of glamour.

Converting the industrial Dairy Road into the picturesque ton (or as close to it as we can get), Contentious Character and Underground Spirits are cordially inviting you to spend an evening with them to celebrate spring and the iconic Netflix series, Bridgerton.

Taking place at Contentious Character’s urban cellar door in Fyshwick on Saturday 28 September, the First Ball Of The Season: Unveil The Secrets Of Regency Glamour will transform the venue with a splash of Regency magic that will impress even the most stalwart Bridgerton fan.

Dazzling attendees with spectacular floral and lace embellishments that will transport you to an era of grand opulence, you can spend the evening dancing, dining, and unleashing your inner duke and duchess.

From 6 pm, attendees will be greeted with a delightful cocktail upon arrival (made with the finest Underground gin and Contentious wine), before indulging in a selection of five tapas.

Dying to be the talk of the ton? Make sure to dress to fit the occasion and wear your most resplendent period attire and you might just walk away with a prize for the Best Dressed Gentleman, Lady, or Couple – a title perhaps more prestigious than that of earl and marquess.

Finally, no ball is complete without music (something Bridgerton does so well). Fill your dance card with suitors or simply let the soundtrack serenade you as you celebrate spring and the start of the season.
