Click + Connect in style
Posted on
Fresh off the back of our last cocktail-making Click + Connect, our next event will be the perfect night out for stylish Canberra women.
Faith Fashion Fusion: Muslim women’s style in Australia is on show at the National Archives of Australia. A travelling exhibition developed by the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Sydney, it explores the work of Muslim designers and entrepreneurs and the way they interact with mainstream fashion. You’ll discover emerging modest fashion trends — from swimmers and footy uniforms to hipster street wear and elegant red carpet dresses — and the work of a new generation of Muslim fashionistas. You can read all about the exhibition here.
HerCanberra’s Click + Connect has been providing a fun, relaxed environment for women to connect and make new friends in since September last year – but this will be our first fashion focused event!
Together with National Archives Australia, we have put together something extra special for HerCanberra’s next Click + Connect event, to be held from 5:30pm on Thursday 18 August 2016.
What’s happening?
Guided tours of the exhibition with curator Melanie Pitkin
Hijab scarf tying workshops and demos with Delina Darusman-Gala, one of the women featured in the exhibition and author of Muslim Street Fashion Blogspot.

A delicious selection of canapés, wine and bubbles served throughout the event.
No matter what your fashion style or faith, this will be a fantastic night and a chance to meet new people and make new friends while exploring one of Canberra’s true hidden gems!
