“I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is happiness: a glass of wine, a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea. Nothing else.” ― Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek.

The 2015 Greek Film festival, hosted by Dionysus himself (or his PR company, anyway) is set to take centre stage at the Nishi Grand Stair on Friday 16 October.

In a short but sweet affair, the best of Greek cinema (and some of its stars) will grace Palace Electric Cinemas for one weekend only with a carefully curated selection of films from Friday October 16 to Sunday 18 October.

Presented by the Hellenic Club of Canberra in partnership with Hotel Hotel and the Molonglo Group, the festival will kick off at 6pm sharp on the Friday night on the Nishi Grand Stair with a Greek feast by Monster kitchen and bar, plentiful wine and even celebrity guests Tony Nikolapoulos and Zoe Carides, stars of the film for the evening, Alex and Eve.
