Hot Dub Wine Machine festival to hit Canberra

HerCanberra Team

A full-bodied day of wine, food and live music? We’re there.

Qué? What is this Hot Dub Wine Machine you speak of?

We were a little confused, too, so we sent our intrepid reporter to find out more about this event hitting town in two weeks.

So, what exactly is it?

Essentially, it’s a music festival washed down with a whole lot of wine. Last year’s tour boasted sold-out shows across the country and Canberra has been added to the schedule this year.

Who’s playing?

A great blend of home-grown talent: Sneaky Sound System, The Kite String Tangle, Touch Sensitive and more. It’s hosted by Triple J’s Tom Tilley.

Oh and let’s not forget headliner Hot Dub Time Machine.

Hot Dub who?

Hot Dub Time Machine! He’s an Australian DJ. Since first launching his time-travelling, ‘dance-through-the-decades’ audio-visual party concept in 2011, Sydney’s Tom Loud has grown his project into an absolute monster.

Hot Dub showcases songs from every decade and genre of music—60s rock, 70s disco, 80s cheese, 90s house, noughties electro, 2017’s radio hits—and winds and weaves it into one big music history lesson. Each song is played in chronological order—mixed live on turntables—and complemented with archival concert footage/music videos on massive screens.

Sounds good. When and where?

It’s all happening at Pialligo Estate on Saturday 31 March.

Who can attend?

Hot Dub Wine Machine is a fully licensed 18+ only event.

Can I take my own wine along?

Ah no. You can buy food and alcohol on-site. It’s a drug free event, too, so don’t even think about that—bags will be checked on entry and police will be in attendance.

So what SHOULD I take?

Your ID, sunscreen, and an appetite for a good time!

How much?

The event costs as little as $69 or $129 for VIP.

How do I get tickets?

Where can I find out more?
