We’re a last minute town…and this year has gone so quickly, you’re forgiven if you haven’t yet got your NYE plans sorted. Well we’ve got you covered, with over a dozen of our favourite ways to ring in the new year.


 A big night out…

Party like it’s 1923

Our favourite girl, Molly, is hosting a Gatsby themed NYE 2014 party that you won’t want to miss. To ring in the New Year, the speakeasy will be paying tribute to the Roaring Twenties with a range of entertainment, premium beverages including a special NYE cocktail and tasty platters.

The Rum Bar

The Rum Bar has a limited number of tickets on sale for a special NYE event. There will be DJs, an open air dance floor and good times are promised for all! Your ticket will get you a night of food and drinks including beers, wines, special Bacardi cocktails, and of course sparkling wine for the final countdown.

Manuka Beach Party

Head along to Polit Bar—Canberra’s Lounge to say goodbye to 2014 and welcome 2015 at their Manuka Beach Party this New Years Eve. Arrive to a yummy welcome cocktail, food and a night of dancing to the tunes spun by the House DJ.

NYE at Treehouse

Head to Treehouse for the night and bring in 2015 with DJ Tom Hathaway from Sneaky Saturdays kicking the night off from 9pm with his selection of house tunes. Norm from Playtime will take over the system with his party tunes. Think of fun party music along the lines of Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Justin Timberlake, and maybe even some Spice Girls. Every booking placed before the night will receive a complimentary cocktail on arrival!

Celebrate NYE with a view

Rio Carnival New Years Eve Party at The Arboretum

Countdown the end of the year and ring in 2015 with dazzling colour and celebration overlooking the nation’s capital at the National Arboretum Canberra. Enjoy Brazilian street food, a Samba parade and a three-course dinner with entertainment and a DJ spinning songs that will make you want to hit the dance floor.

Onred Restaurant  

Onred is throwing a cocktail party to celebrate this New Years Eve in style and you’re invited! Book in for an evening of live music with Annie and the Armadillos playing and canapés aplenty. Enjoy the night with friends and welcome the new year with the best views of the fireworks over Lake Burley Griffin and a beer or wine in hand.

Take in the view at Lotus Bay Restaurant

As the sun sets on another great year enjoy glittering water views, stylish décor, live entertainment by local Canberra band The Old 45s and a sumptuous five-course menu and beverage package with family and friends.

Eat your way into 2015

Oui, oui! Bring in 2015 at Les Bistronomes

Escape to another world without leaving the capital when you dine at Les Bistronomes special degustation this New Year’s Eve. Sample a real slice of France with new delicious dishes and wine matching included. You’ll have the choice of the tasting or bistronomical menu. Enjoy a sophisticated bite to eat and drinks as you party the night away at Les Bistronomes.

Dine and Dance at Woden’s Canberra Southern Cross Club

Dine and dance your way into 2015 as you enjoy a lavish three-course menu, cheese platter and the energising sounds of renowned Canberra band Second Movement. This six-piece show band will have you dancing to hits ranging from The Beatles and Rolling Stones to Elvis and the Bee Gees.

Only One way to see in 2015 at One Restaurant & Bar

Bring in the new year with family and friends at Novotel Canberra! One Restaurant & Bar is offering a choice of two sittings, a delicious menu, entertainment, dancing and lots of fun. The fireworks displays are only a short walk away so you might be able to watch one of the two after dinner.

Family fun festivities

New Year’s Eve in the City

Canberra will come alive with a free family concert and dance party on New Year’s Eve farewelling 2014 and welcoming in 2015. Featuring Australian rock band Eskimo Joe and renowned dance act Joel Fletcher, the concert kicks off at 7pm with fireworks at 9pm and again at midnight. New Year’s Eve in the City will run across two venues—Civic Square and Garema Place until 1am. The annual all ages dance party, Bass in the Place will have crowds moving and grooving in Garema Place with a fantastic line up of well known DJs. Both events are alcohol and glass free and proudly presented by the ACT Government.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the SIDS & Kids ACT Christmas Lights in the City then this will be your last chance. With more than one million Christmas lights, the display has officially broken the Guinness World Record for the largest LED light image display in the world.

Family fun at Jamison’s Southern Cross Club  

Enjoy the fabulous family friendly atmosphere as you welcome in the New Year at  Jamison! With a free jumping castle, face painting and balloon sculpture for the kids from 5.30, and free music from “The Dukes” in the lounge area.

Cruise into 2015

Sail about Lake Burley Griffin aboard M.V. Southern Cross

Find your ‘sea’ legs and bring in the new year on board M.V. Southern Cross. With two cruises available (dinner or cocktail), end the year on a high note as you treat you and your family to something a little special.
