Pâtissez placed into liquidation

HerCanberra Team

It was the Freak Shake that launched a million copycats, and now Pâtissez Pty Ltd has gone into liquidation.

As per the ASIC website, a general meeting of the members of the Company held on 01 November 2017  resolved that the Company be wound up and that Gregory Stuart Andrews & Andrew Juzva be appointed liquidator(s).

Pâtissez was launched in mid-2015 by Canberra’s reality television sweethearts Anna and Gina Petridis. A second city store followed by the end of the year.

In mid-2016, the café made an international push into Asia, opening outlets in Singapore and Malaysia. The Holland Village (Singapore) store is no longer, but Pâtissez Uptown (Malaysia) remains in trade according to their Facebook page.

As for Canberra, the city outlet quietly closed its doors a couple of weeks ago, while the original Manuka café has been sold and will continue to trade as Pâtissez, so you can still get your Freak Shake fix.

A spokesperson for Pâtissez Pty Ltd described it as a “sad development, however the dream and passion will continue.”

And there seems to be no keeping them down. In a comment on the HerCanberra Facebook page, they wrote:

“Hey everyone – actually really humbled by the love (& honestly a little surprised lol). It’s been an insane couple of years for us & we definitely bit off more than we could chew! The dream lives on, as does Manuka ?? There have been MANY mistakes but we gave it a red hot go & learned a lot. Our situation was pretty unique & we certainly got caught up in the madness! We’ve lost a lot & there has been some big heartache but…it’s time to rebuild & we couldn’t be more excited. Keep watching homies…2018’s gonna be a good year!!”
