Pialligo’s new High Tea sessions are worth saving space for

HerCanberra Team

One of our favourite foodie destinations is adding something special to its events calendar.

Do you know the difference between high tea and afternoon tea?

According to their British traditions, afternoon tea was a light meal traditionally served on the sofa while high tea was a more substantial meal served, “high” at the table.

Certainly, we believe the spread served at Pialligo for its new High Tea sessions on Sundays warrants the table, as you’d probably have problems trying to fit the fabulous food selection on your lap.

In usual Pialligo Estate form, the new high tea menu includes a selection of cakes, tarts, pastries, classic finger sandwiches, and scones with Estate jam.

It’s questionable whether participants would have the room for dinner that night.

Perfect for a celebration, birthdays, hen’s parties, dates, family get-togethers, or merely a lovely way to cap off the weekend, the high teas include a large range of teas by Canberra-based Tea Garden Co and, in the best high tea traditions, a glass of bubbles for that true celebratory style.

At just $55 per head, we think it’s great value for a spot at one of Canberra’s most beautiful locations – within Pialligo’s beautiful glasshouse. High teas sittings will be held at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm on selected Sundays – the next one is May 27.

Bookings are essential to reserve a place.
