Interstate cult foodie favourites Mary’s Burgers, Gelato Messina and Melbourne Martini Bar come to Canberra for new food festival, The Commons.

Canberrans love a food festival, so news that a massive 10-day fusion of street food, pop-up bars and entertainment is set to land on Commonwealth Park from Friday 9 Sunday to 18 December, is sure to be peak excitement.

The impressive lineup of vendors is headlined by foodie favourites Mary’s Burgers, Gelato Messina and Happy as Larry, topped off with beverages from the likes of Little Creatures, Batlow Cider, Capital Brewing Co and Pact Beer. There will also be special events announced soon, as if you needed more of an excuse to get along as many nights as possible.

So what exactly can guests expect?

Highlights include espresso martinis from Melbourne Martini Bar; Peking Duck fries from Night Noodle Market favourites Bao Stop; dumplings from Let’s Do Yum Cha; locally cured meat and cheese platters from Pialligo Estate; and bacon, banana and maple syrup waffles from De Wafel.

Don’t do queues? You don’t have to. The Commons will provide the ultimate luxury option – a butler who will deliver food and drinks to your reserved table, or curate a menu for you.

With over 150,000 people expected over the festival’s 10-day run, The Commons looks set to be Canberra’s hottest destination this summer.
