Get your Christmas shopping done while helping PANDSI

Christine Spicer

Are you searching for the perfect Christmas stocking filler, teacher gift, foodie dream, unique local souvenir or a gift for the ‘person who has everything’?

The Canberra in Cake book ticks all of the above, plus you’ll be helping local charity PANDSI.

PANDSI supports over 300 families a year experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety. Although funded by ACT Health, fundraising ensures we can meet the growing demand faced by the service and look at innovative mechanisms to reach and support the one in six mums and one in 10 dad’s experiencing depression and anxiety during the perinatal period.

PANDSI Cake Off is an event held the day before Mother’s Day annually. In 2016 every cake from the iconic Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Cookbook (106!) was created by volunteer bakers, they were on display at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra before being sold via live or silent auction. All money raised went to PANDSI.

PANDSI Cake Off 2017 had a local spin which saw 68 Canberra themed cakes fill the Hyatt Hotel ballroom. Every one of the cakes had their professional photo taken, and are now showcased in the Canberra in Cake book along with the amazing volunteer bakers who were not camera shy.
