‘One Fine Day’ in Canberra

Laura Peppas

As a bride to be, I’ll admit I’ve probably spent way too much time in the wee hours of the night on Pinterest, Instagram and bridal websites.

It starts innocently enough; an Inspo pic here, a recommendation there—then out of the blue it morphs into a full-blown obsession, adding extra stress to what should be a fun planning process.

So you’ll understand why I was excited when I heard wedding fair One Fine Day was coming to Canberra for the first time.

The event’s Sunset Series, to be held at the National Gallery of Australia, will put 20 of the best wedding vendors in the capital including photographers, caterers, stylists and makeup artists under the one roof, potentially saving brides and grooms to be stacks of time.

Since its launch in Sydney in 2012, One Fine Day has grown exponentially, with fairs in Sydney and Melbourne welcoming 7000+ brides and grooms.

Director of the One Fine Collective Jessica Mcleod says Canberra’s event won’t be your run of the mill wedding fair—caterers,The Big Group, will provide a three course dinner and dessert buffet held under the stars in the Gallery’s courtyard with live music, bubbles from Moet & Chandon and a fashion parade all included in the ticket price.

“We have curated 20 of the best wedding vendors in Canberra for the event who have all been working super hard on creating fantastic stalls,” says Jessica.

“It’s a once in a lifetime experience being a bride and planning a wedding can be stressful but this event is designed to be a totally indulgent experience whilst also getting some of those planning boxes ticked.”

Jessica says One Fine Day decided to branch out to Canberra because there were “so many interesting things” happening here at the moment.

“We just didn’t want to miss out,” she says.

“Plus wedding vendors in Canberra are really amazing, we needed to come down and help them showcase their talents.”

Jessica says the event is aimed at brides and grooms who are discerning and sophisticated.

“They can be both traditional and non-traditional, creative or conservative,” she says.

“Anyone really who is looking to make their big day their own. The main aim is for you to have an awesome day out with your fiancé, family and friends discovering amazing inspiration from our creative vendors and walk away feeling totally re-inspired for your big day!”
