Dress Me Up (for a good cause)

HerCanberra Team

Embracing your style. It’s easier for some than others.

If you want some fab tips on how to look great without changing who you are, sign up for the Dress Me Up charity fashion event being held at CARDIF Collective in Kingston on Saturday 8 October.

There are heaps of reasons to join in. Let’s start with champagne and canapes. And shopping the huge selection of local designers and jewellers who sell out of CARDIF Collective. And a bonus styling session by Fiona Keary from Style Liberation. If that’s not enough, you’ll get to check out the latest collection of bags by Sash & Belle and hear from author Leanne Shea Langdown on building confidence and ageing positively.

That’s all the fun bit. The serious bit is that this Dress Me Up event is about raising money for the Olivia Lambert Foundation.

Olivia Lambert

Dress Me Up is run by Kristy McPhillips who owns and operates Sash & Belle, a Canberra-based business selling quality, well-priced handbags. Kristy ran the first Dress Me Up event awhile back, raising money for ovarian cancer. This time, she chose to support childhood cancer.

The Olivia Lambert Foundation lessens the financial burden on families with children who are suffering from aggressive forms of cancer. “I have small children and would hate it if they had to struggle with cancer,” says Kristy. “It’s such a good cause.”

At the event, Fiona from Style Liberation will style three models and some mannequins. “The aim is to make the most of who you are and embrace your unique style,” says Kristy. “We’re not looking to change anyone.”

“Most people are donating their time to pulling the event together,” says Kristy, “including the three models. CARDIF Collective is donating the space and many others are contributing time to promote and support Dress Me Up.”

Al proceeds, after expenses, will go to the Olivia Lambert Foundation. That includes a percentage of all profits from any bags Sash & Belle sells.

So if drinks, canapes, mingling, shopping and learning are for you, book your ticket now.
