Fashfest: fun in the foyer

HerCanberra Team

The minute you enter the doors at the National Convention Centre Canberra, FASHFEST gets you going.

First stop, in the main foyer, are massive media walls where you can get yourself snapped. Second stop is the bar to grab a glass of bubbles—what’s a fashion show without bubbles? Then it’s time to have fun in the foyer.

This year, FASHFEST’s official fashion illustrator will host an exhibition on site and you can watch her create live drawings of designer garments. Johanna Dziadkiewicz is coming from Melbourne for the event. She’s been tracking FASHFEST designers since last year and has created intriguing illustrations. Pop by and say hello.

Also in the foyer will be a lash stand by Harlotte Cosmetics, with the new FASHFEST DOUBLE LASH. The lash was created exclusively for the event by Harlotte Cosmetics. At the stand, you can buy a pair to take home or have them applied by a lash expert before the show. Their $15, come in their own box with glue and are reusable up to 10 times. The layers, texture and curve combine to make an incredible lash that takes eye design to the next level. They add drama and elegance and will make you look stunning.

Have a shoe fetish? Check out the shoe exhibition by FletcherLovell. Canberra designer, Penny Lovell, designs these shoes and then manufactures them in Spain, with love. They’re beautiful, comfy, eye-catching flats. Penny’s dream is to colour the world one step at a time with her stylish shoes.

Watch out for the ‘Blossom together’ gown created by the Hands on Studio at M16 Gallery out of recycled art created by adults with disability. Stay tune for more details. This is a story that will make your heart pitter patter.

Outincanberra will set up an open photoshoot set. Guests can get their photo taken in the space and receive instant photos to take home to remember their FASHFEST experience. Also this year will be at least one live photo shoot, including one with models wearing the new collection by Jade Sargent of SOVATA (after it’s launched on the catwalk of course).

WalterKnoll furniture will again be set up in the foyer, as part of the transformation of the National Convention Centre Canberra, brought to the event by Designcraft.
