Hyperdome launches new video style series

The Hyperdome has released the first in a series of style video tutorials, starring local makeup artist Jacqui Scott and fashion blogger Jemma Mrdak.

“We are excited to launch this six-part series of makeup and fashion videos for summer,” said Adam Gill, Hyperdome’s Marketing Manager.

“You will see two well-known local faces offer their tips and tricks for the upcoming season.”

The purpose of the series is not only to highlight the Hyperdome’s range of products, hand-picked by Jacqui and Jemma, but also to show women how to use or style them.

“The focus of the videos is really the how-to,” says Jacqui. “How to apply the products, and where to buy them. I’ve personally shopped for these products—as a makeup artist, it’s very important for me that I only use and recommend products that I believe in.”

The first video of the series is “Back to Basics: Skin Care + The Perfect Base”—which Jacqui says is the foundation of a summer beauty look.

“Summer beauty is all about fresh, glowing skin. It’s a sign of youthfulness and beauty, so we’re seeing a freshness to the skin, with lots of highlights and a little bit of pink that can be applied to the cheek and lip to keep it simple.”

There’s also a focus on affordability—with both Jemma and Jacqui selecting products at an accessible price point, or items which enhance your existing fashion and beauty arsenal.

“This year I definitely have a more relaxed approach to my summer styling,” says Jemma, “I think it’s important to work with items that you already have in your wardrobe from previous seasons, however, jazz them up with summer accessories and other pieces that you may have forgotten you already owned.”

And while the advice is being delivered by style experts, it’s designed for the everyday woman.

“I find that a lot of women come to me—maybe they’re mums returning to work, or they’re getting older and noticing changes in their skin and their face,” says Jacqui. “Women can feel quite lost when it comes to everyday or professional makeup”

The series will continue to roll out until the end of January, with episodes that feature tips and tricks on using colour; putting together stylish, professional looks; and ‘off-duty’ styling for evenings and weekends.

“It was great to collaborate with the team and create something visual for women to be able to refer to—I hope that these videos are an easy education for women in everyday makeup” says Jacqui.

Jemma hopes readers will walk away with renewed appreciation for what’s on offer at the Hyperdome.

“I think people will see just how good the fashion range is” she says. “It will also show how easy it is to mix and match items from a variety of stores to achieve an effortless, yet classy summer look.”

The videos are part of a series of changes that continue to take place at the centre.

“We are moving to a more modern and engaging way to interact with the Southside community,” says Adam. “Customers want useful information and great content, not sales and marketing messages. For us, this series is a fun and ‘real’ way to interact with them.”

You can watch the first video on the Hyperdome website or Facebook page. Be sure to catch all six episodes as they’re released, and keep an eye out for future projects.
