Pink Ink: Where art meets fashion

Laura Peppas

With digital art adorning its exterior and darkened windows, Braddon boutique Pink Ink has raised the bar with its new ‘art meets fashion’ concept.

The boutique unveiled its new look in style at an event last night with guest speaker, editor of Harper’s Bazaar, Kellie Hush.

The floor-to-ceiling piece of digital art adorning one half of the boutique’s external walls, designed by local artist Scott Ketley, reflects the store’s history since opening in 2003.

Pink Ink director Jane Pettersen says the new look takes back “customer privacy” for the Lonsdale Street boutique, which has a designer portfolio with labels including Ellery and Max Mara and an in-house styling service.

“It’s made a remarkable difference as soon as you walk into the store, it has an intimate feel which is important for our customers,” Jane says.

“I think it’s a change that touches you visually, you can see the clothes even more clearly and there’s a real feeling of exclusivity now.”

Special guest Kellie Hush, who grew up in Canberra, says the boutique has become a “destination” in its own right.

“I wish we had Pink Ink when I was growing up in Canberra, what Jane has done here is just incredible,” she says.
