Cartier Masthead Final Weeks

Street Stylin’ at Canberra Centre

Laura Peppas

Though the weather is still chilly, spring is an exciting time for fashion: the layers start to peel off and gradually, people start to experiment more with different colours and patterns. And what better place to check out your spring style than Canberra Centre? Passing by all the shoppers checking out the centre’s new spring/summer range, we found you wearing everything from chic work suits to blazers worn by the Duchess of Cambridge herself…

Stephanie, Torrens

“After I bought this blazer from Zara, Kate Middleton wore it when she came to Australia so it sold out really quickly. Since then I’ve actually had people come up to me and offer me money for it because they loved it so much after seeing her wear it. My favourite brand is Ralph Lauren so I’ll usually go to David Jones, Zara or Saba at Canberra Centre – anything preppy, navy or stripes, that’s all I ever wear.”

Linda, Casey

“I usually shop at Marcs and Zara, I love what they have in store at the moment for spring/summer. I really would like a new bag and new work shirts – something not too corporate but nice to wear on Fridays.”

 Joe, Acton

“I usually like to shop in David Jones for my formal wear, but street wear I’ll go to Foot Locker or Platypus, I like to branch out a bit. I’m actually on the hunt for a pair of Common Projects which are white low topped shoe.”

Michelle, Queanbeyan

“My favourite stores in the Canberra Centre are Sass & Bide, Saba and Witchery. At the moment I’m eyeing off a nice blouse, something that I can wear anywhere that’s great for this spring weather.”

Amanda, Dickson

“I always like to check out Myer and David Jones when I’m here because they have great brands in store. Bloc has awesome ballet flats so that’s my go-to. I really like Witchery as well. At the moment I really want a pair of wide-length jeans, and I’ve also been eyeing off some of the leather skirts out at the moment – there’s some beautiful A-line ones that I’d love.”
