Street Stylin’: Skate In The City Edition

Posted on

This week we braved the cold in Canberra’s very own winter wonderland and sussed out what you wore to  Skate in the City session on a Wednesday afternoon. We found everything from slogan jumpers to bargain boots and plenty of coats to keep you warm. This is the Street Stylin’ Skate in the City edition…

Penny, Sydney. Wearing: Aldi coat and Gap jeans. “We’re visiting good friends of ours who live in Goulburn, so we decided to visit Canberra for the day. I’ve never really skated before so I’m not too good on the ice but it’s a lot of fun and it’s a beautiful day in Canberra, much warmer than we thought it would be! I still came prepared with a good coat – this jacket is actually from Aldi which is is surprising, but it’s nice and warm.”

Naomi, Queensland. Wearing: Borrowed cardigan, vintage jeans. “I’m in Canberra visiting my boyfriend, so this has been a great date…The last time I skated was when I was 10 years old. This is my first time at Skate in the City, it’s a lot colder here than in Queensland though so I didn’t have much winter clothes, but it’s been a lot of fun.”

Sarah, Sydney. “I have skated a little bit before but I’m not very good. This has been a really cool day though, I’m enjoying being out on the ice and doing something a bit different. I chose to wear this jumper because it always keeps me really warm, and I like the slogan…I would say I’m a relaxed person.”

Shannon, Brisbane. Wearing: Saba Jeans and Wittner Boots. “I’m taking some time out from visiting my father in Canberra, coming from Brisbane my style is warm as it’s a bit of a shock. I’m pretty much a black person when it comes to my dressing colour palette. Bargain of the century are these Wittner boots, they came down from $200 to $40, so that’s a good buy.”

We dressed really casual because we came here for shopping but then saw the Skate in the City rink and couldn’t help ourselves. Our style is quite casual, we really like simple prints and minimal colours so that’s why we’re wearing blue jeans, black vest and a striped knit.”
