Five wedding-ready cocktails

While beer and wine are safe, easy options for a wedding, why not stray from the beaten path and include a signature wedding cocktail to your big day?
You’ll probably have a professional in charge of mixing, but whether yours is a garden, beach or church wedding, we have some suggestions for tasty tipples…
Summer wedding
Coconut Margarita
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
¾ cup Coco Lopez or cream of coconut
½ cup tequila
¼ cup Cointreau (or any orange liqueur)
Sangria
Mix to your taste:
Cut fruit (apples, oranges)
Sugar
Brandy
Orange juice
Red wine
Ice
Autumn wedding
Rob Roy
25ml sweet vermouth
45ml scotch whisky
Dash of angostura bitters
Sazerac
10ml absinth
One sugar cube
45ml rye whiskey or cognac
3 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters
Winter wedding
Mulled Wine
10 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
¼ cup castor sugar
1 roughly grated nutmeg
2 cups of water
1 roughly grated orange rind
1 roughly chopped apple (skin on)
1 bottle (750ml) fruity red wine (perhaps a merlot)
Lava Lamp Cocktail
30ml pomegranate liqueur
2/3 cup champagne
3 pomegranate seeds
Spring wedding
Pimms
Mix to taste:
Pimms
Lemonade
Ginger ale
Ice
Lemon and lime (garnish)
Kiwi Daiquiri
For proportion, to be blended and garnished:
1 kiwi fruit, sliced
1 tablespoon lime juice
45 oz. rum
Crushed ice
