ACTIVE Week: GoGirls! Floorball

Floorball is a high-speed, low-impact indoor sport originally developed from ice hockey.

Players attempt to shoot a lightweight plastic ball into their opponents’ goal using lightweight plastic/carbon-fiber sticks. With strict rules against high sticking, excess body contact and overly physical play, floorball is fast-paced but safe.

GoGirls! Floorball is the International Floorball Federation (IFF) project aimed at helping to increase and promote the participation of girls and women in floorball throughout the world. The IFF aims to provide guidance on the different challenges faced by girls in obtaining access to participation in sport, and to help break down those barriers within the international Floorball family. Floorball should be for all, and it is important to understand the different motivations and expectations that girls have for their sporting experience.

As part of HerCanberra’s ACTIVE Week, Floorball ACT is pleased to offer a FREE GoGirls! floorball session
