Alliance Française Classic Film Festival: Opening Night

Have you ever felt like leaving everything behind and embarking on a new adventure? Jean Luc Godard’s feature, Pierrot le Fou is opening the Festival in Canberra. Come and (re)discover the emblematic Bébel!

Pierrot Le fou is one of his most renowned films from 1961 to 1974. Jean-Paul Belmondo and Anna Karina take you in their adventures.

Considered a key figure of the French New Wave, Belmondo’s career of almost 60 years has been internationally fêted through Awards such as the César, the Golden Lion and the Golden Camera, a Career Achievement Award at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and an honorary Palme d’Or from the Cannes Film Festival. In recognition of his influence beyond the confines of cinema, Belmondo was also honoured with the National Order of the Legion of Honour in 2007 and the National Order of Merit in 2017.

In celebration of the enduring cinema of France, The Alliance Française Classic Film Festival is returning for its anticipated third edition.

In association with Palace Cinemas, the Alliance Française and Studiocanal will again hold this evocative event, which parallels the renowned Alliance Française French Film Festival.

Happening Thursday 31 August opening at 6.15pm screening at 7pm at Palace Electric Cinema, 2 Phillip Law St, Canberra.
