Book Launch: Life Without Lanyards

Ever thought about starting your own business? Wondering if there’s a career for you beyond the public service?

Head along to a free evening event and meet the people who’ve made the shift and lived.

Featuring Kate Lundy and Matt Fenwick, author of Life without Lanyards: from public servant to entrepreneur.

How many people do you know in the public service who are unhappy in their jobs – or just wondering if this is all there is? Frustrated, bored, anxious, or just feeling like they want more out of their work.

Maybe this is you.

Now there’s help.

On Thursday 9 July, Kate Lundy and Matt Fenwick will launch Life without Lanyards: from public servant to entrepreneur. The book is a lighthouse to guide readers through the fog of their job dissatisfaction — and to see other paths — and contains guidance and practical steps for everyone who’s ever thought about leaving Government to start a business.

The plan for the evening

Hear Kate Lundy and Matt Fenwick share their experience of moving from public service to self-employment: what they’ve gained, and what they’ve learned along the way

Staff from the CBR Innovation Network will let you know what support is available for when you’re ready to make the leap into self-employment

Be the first to get your copy of Life without Lanyards signed by Matt Fenwick.

There’ll be plenty of time to chat to people like you; some who’ve made the shift to self-employment with a business that’s up and running. And some who are taking those first few steps to deciding the next step for their career journey.

Drinks and light refreshments provided.

Parking and directions

The CBR Innovation Network is on the fifth floor at 1 Moore Street Canberra (ACT Health Building).  There’s plenty of parking available at CityWest Carpark or ANU.
