Kites for Karralika

Fly a kite and raise hope with Karralika’s free community fun day

Canberrans are invited to enjoy food stalls, live entertainment and free activities for kids including a rock climbing wall, jumping castle and face painting on Saturday 26 November.

It’s all part of a free community fun day to celebrate Karralika Programs providing more than 40 years of support to Canberra families through drug and alcohol programs.

Come along Saturday 26 November 11am-2pm at John Dunmore Lang Place, on the lawns next to Questacon, and fly a kite to raise hope!

The event will celebrate the strength and tenacity of individuals and families who are making positive changes in their lives, and offer encouragement to those who have not yet taken that first step on their road to recovery.

Kites for Karralika will be an opportunity to involve the community in celebrating recovery, connecting with community and to publicly acknowledge the dedication and support provided by the Karralika team over the years in helping families choose a better life.

Food vans will be set up including wood fired pizza and churros plus much more. Families are welcome to bring their own food and picnic rug on the day. There will be many free activities for children including a jumping castle, rock climbing wall, face painting and craft activities. For a gold coin donation, children can receive a kite that can be flown on the day.

Local musicians will entertain families throughout the event including the recently crowned Australian National Busking Champion Lucy Sugarman and Guyy & The Fox.
