Click + Connect – it’s Play School!

The National Museum of Australia has put together something extra special just for HerCanberra’s next Click & Connect event – a Night At The Museum that’s all about Play School!

Take a trip down memory lane and celebrate 50 years of this iconic television show in line with NMA’s latest exhibition. It’ll be the biggest kids’ party in Canberra, just for grown-ups! There’ll be games to play and stories to tell, craft and clocks, and old friends as well!

Open Wide, come inside!

We will kick things off with pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the NMA business admin building from 5.30pm – 6.15pm. Bubbles with fairy floss (one glass per person) on arrival, accompanied by platters of adult ‘party food’ – upmarket fairy bread, party pies and sausage rolls and sweets.

At 6.15pm we will have express entry into Night At The Museum to make our way through the entertainment, games/activities and presentations. As the majority of the activities for this event are games, we will be splitting into groups, which will be a great opportunity for you all to get to know each other a little in a fun environment!

The Night At The Museum component finishes at around 9pm but if you’ve made friends that you’d like to keep chatting to, you can then head to Lucky’s Speakeasy Bar at QT who are hosting the “After Party”. A good chance to keep mingling!

Buy your tickets below and read more about the exhibition here.

What’s Click + Connect all about?

No, it’s not a Coles grocery ordering service; it’s a night where you can chat to some lovely HerCanberra readers and hopefully make some new besties!

We all know it can sometimes be tricky to make friends in Canberra. Perhaps you’ve moved here and haven’t found someone you’ve clicked with; maybe you’ve moved on from a long time friendship that just doesn’t seem right anymore; or it could be that you’re in a different life stage than your current group of friends.

Whatever the reason, when we published Emma Grey’s article on feeling left out and invited to people to email us if they were interested in coming along to an event where they could meet new people, we were absolutely gobsmacked by the overwhelming and immediate response. More recently, Tanya Hennessy’s article on spending her weekends alone went viral and saw a whole new crew of people joining our Click + Connect Facebook group.

The HerCanberra Team will be around to facilitate introductions and make you as comfortable as possible, and there’ll be plenty of fun activities to help break the ice!
