Pasta Buoy (Huskisson)

A small and intimate hole in the wall where the pasta is fresh, and the drinks are cold, Pasta Buoy is a unique dining experience for those who love to pair cocktails with carbs.

Just a five-minute walk from Jervis Bay, everything is handmade fresh daily and served in takeaway containers – from their Vodka Rigatoni to the Insalata Caprese Burrata, and Tiramisu.

Even the cocktails are designed to take away, but with a gorgeous al fresco area that gives Italian Riviera vibes, take a few friends and settle in to sip on a range of margs and martinis.

60 Owen Street, Huskisson | Open Sunday to Thursday, 11 am – 8 pm and Friday to Saturday, 11 am – 8.30 pm | pastabuoy.com

Steampacket Hotel (Nelligen)

Slow down, and pull over, because you’ll want to experience Steampacket for yourself.

Focusing on quality free-range meat and the freshest seafood, this pub offers some delicious food that will revitalise you after a taxing drive up the Clyde. Think: peach burrata with rocket, mint and pistachio crumb; tuna ponzu with pickled ginger and salmon roe; vegan fried tofu with maple soy, chili and coriander; and a half kilo of free-range chicken wings with a choice of sauces (gochujang glaze, smoked jalapeno and maple, habanero, buffalo or BBQ). And don’t worry if that doesn’t tickle your tastebuds, because kangaroo striploin, free-range chicken schnitzel, and beer-battered fish and chips also feature on the menu.

963 Kings Highway Nelligen | Open Monday to Sunday, 11.30 am til late |steampackethotelnelligen.com.au

The Punt House (Batemans Bay)

Nestled on the shores of the Clyde River, The Punt House is a restaurant offering a delicious escape like no other.

This waterfront dining experience highlights some of the greatest local ingredients, expertly crafted with a Mediterranean touch for something a bit different. From Clyde River oysters served with vodka, tomato, and sumac to small plates like chargrilled whole prawns with smokey paprika, fried capers, gremolata, and squid ink aioli, it’s the perfect coastal wining and dining experience.

2 Old Punt Road, North Batemans Bay | Open Wednesday to Sunday, 12 pm – 8 pm | thepunthouse.com.au

Foxdog Distillery (Mogo)

All day dining, cocktails and gin tastings – there’s a reason we have this listed as a ‘must-visit’ destination when down the South Coast.

While it’s a little out of the way (it’s situated just behind Mogo Zoo) Foxdog Distillery has everything you want from a distillery: a great outlook, fantastic drinks, and delicious food.  Serving up tacos, wood-fired pizzas, salads, loaded fries and more, it’s all about relaxed and family friendly dining.

Our recommendation? For those that don’t mind a tipple, pair your food with the Mandarin Gin and thank us later.

Sunnyside Farm, 312 Tomakin Road, Mogo | Open Tuesday Sunday, 11 am – 9 pm | foxdogdistillery.com

Valentina (Merimbula)

Looking with a location with beautiful interiors and an elevated menu to match? With views of Merimbula Lake, Valentina is one-hatted seafood haven you have to try for yourself.

Designed to share, with flavour combinations like octopus, ‘nduja, and salsa verde and snapper acqua pazza with prawn oil you know it’s worth booking a dinner date here.

Upstairs, 2 Market Street, Merimbula | Open Tuesday to Thursday, 5 pm – 10 pm and Friday to Saturday, 12 pm – 10 pm |  valentinamerimbula.com

Because it’s not a trip to the coast without stopping for at least one scoop of gelato. And with options like Sea Salt & Olive Oil, Blackberry, Turkish Delight and more, you’ll be sure to find something to try.

Plus, also serving açaí bowls, Mediterranean coffee, thick shakes and more (the list literally goes on…), you’ll have more than one excuse to go.

20 Wason Street, Ulladulla | Open Sunday to Thursday, 10.30 am – 9 pm and Friday to Saturday 10.30 am – 10 pm | mavigelati.au
