A beloved Canberra brand has just launched a line for pets

Handcrafted, chef-made meals delivered right to your door – it’s something you wouldn’t think about doing twice for yourself, but what about your four-legged friend?
Everyone knows that a balanced and nutritious diet equals feeling happy and healthy, but those who are wondering what they’re actually feeding their pet when they shop at the supermarket can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to a new idea from a much-loved Canberra brand that’s here to help you nourish your dog with healthy wholefoods without the fuss.
Created by the founder and farmers behind Claystone Meats, who supply the likes of, Public Bar, Grease Monkey, and Red Hill SupaExpress with quality, locally-farmed meat, Pawstone (cute) is serving up carefully cooked pet meals that focus on fresh ingredients that are farmed and sourced by locals.
“One of our working dogs got sick and we realised that it was the additives and preservatives that are in the dog foods that were making her unwell, so we started cooking for her,” explains Claystone and Pawstone founder Stacey Allen.
“We then realised if we’re doing that, then other people are doing that too. We wanted to reduce our waste as much as possible from the human consumption butchery and we realised we could use the off cuts to put into pet food.”
From there, Pawstone was born. And it sounds good enough for humans to eat (and technically you can).
“We are so conscious of the food we consume as humans…we just wanted to offer something that was accessible, and provides really good nutrition for animals,” says Stacey.
The result? A pet food that has no gravies or fillers, no artificial additives and that isn’t bulked out with water.
Continuing to focus on the paddock-to-plate mentality that’s made Claystone Meats so successful, Pawstone is currently serving two types of meals – beef or chicken that’s made with omega 3s, bone broth, kale, carrots, pumpkin, and brown rice, all carefully cooked to retain essential nutrients.
“It’s no different if you ate a multigrain sandwich with really good wholesome ingredients as opposed to white bread with a spread,” explains Stacey.
“It’s exactly the same for dogs. They’re fuller for longer, they’re getting all of their nutritional needs and they’re just healthier overall.”
Farming and sourcing all the ingredients themselves and delivering it straight to your door, all of the Pawstone products are made with human-grade produce in a state-of-the-art facility – including treats like pigs’ ears and homemade peanut butter that your pup is sure to go nuts for.
Backed by years of scientific research, Stacey is confident that Pawstone will give your pet everything they need – because why wouldn’t you want to prioritise the health of your furriest family member?
“We haven’t just popped something together and hoped for the best, it’s been fully lab-tested,” says Stacey.
“I want people to know that we genuinely care about the health of their animals, and we’ve seen the results in our pets and our customer’s pets – from their coats to their teeth, to their overall gastro health.”
“We understand that pets are such a big part of the family and pet food shouldn’t be an afterthought. And we want Canberrans to get behind another amazing Canberra brand and something that is genuinely caring for that extra family member.”
Finally ready to deliver their products fresh to your door (and for free, we might add), to celebrate the launch of their new brand, Pawstone will be holding an amazing Instagram giveaway.
Aiming to reach 5000 followers over the next few weeks, for each big number they hit (1000 followers, 2000 followers, and so on), they’ll be giving away some major prizes.
“If you enter as number 552, you still have as much chance of winning the Jamala Wildlife lodge stay as person 4999. So, whenever you enter doesn’t affect your ability to win the big prize,” explains Stacey.
