Jump to it! Five reasons to love Sky Zone

HerCanberra Team

It’s no secret we’re fans of Sky Zone Belconnen and their bouncing house of fun at Westfield Belconnen. We’ve given it the Fitness Roadtest treatment, rated it as one of Canberra’s top birthday party venues and – believe it or not -featured it in our Alphabet Dating series.

As Sky Zone Belconnen prepares to celebrate its first birthday, we’ve put together five more reasons to love it.

1. THEY’RE THROWING THE ‘BEST. BIRTHDAY. EVER.’

This Saturday 12 December is set to be an even better time to visit Sky Zone, because they’re hosting their first birthday celebrations with all the trimmings. With spot prizes, photo booth fun, face-painting and an epic DJ dance floor battle, Sky Zone is the throwing the Best. Birthday. Ever.TM* And to keep the party going, they’re offering a $10 per person per hour bounce rate all week until next Saturday 19 December!

* It’s not really trademarked. We just like the way that sounds.

2. IT’S A LITTLE OASIS FROM CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

It’s the perfect place for the kids to burn off their excess energy under the supervision of one parent while the other does the Christmas shopping at Westfield Belconnen (bonus partner brownie points for swapping halfway).

Or you could just buy gift vouchers for everyone and have a bounce yourself…

3. IT’S MORE FUN THAN A GYM

(and Sky Zone’s summer timetable is far more reliable.)

Why jog when you can bounce? Put some fun back into your fitness routine and burn up to 1000 calories in an hour while laughing so hard your abs hurt! At 68% more efficient than jogging, Sky Fit classes attack fat, tone muscles and enhance flexibility.

Or find four friends and recreate Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughan’s moves in Dodgeball. On trampolines. Can’t get your head around it? You need to try it yourself (BYO Spandex!) Season 2 kicks off 24 February 2016.

4. IT’S THE AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY WITH A DIFFERENCE

It’s not netball or ballet or soccer or any of the other ‘traditional’ after school activities—it’s a whole lot more fun and is great for confidence and coordination. Recommencing in February 2016, ‘ Sky School offers a structured yet evolving program that makes exercise enjoyable and is tailored to the progression and skill level of attendees.

Jump Stars covers of the basics and is designed to be fast moving, complimented with relevant games while learning to stay safe. Fliptastic and Tricks Extreme take skills up several notches.

Christmas gift idea, perhaps?

5. IT’S FUN FOR ALL AGES

Little Leapers is for kids aged five years and under and gets kids used to defying gravity in a fumble and tumble safe session, away from the masses, all the while developing coordination, flexibility and exploring a diverse tactile environment. Parents and their pocket-size bouncers can join the special fun activities on weekdays.

Alternatively, Wall Runners is an adrenalin-packed session for teens and young adults. It isn’t a party without decent tunes and some walls to run up, flip and twist. It’s a whole new wall game where the pros shine and novices sit back and enjoy the fun.
